Dashain (दशैं is the 10-day national festival of Nepal,[1] and a state festival of Indian states of Sikkim and the Darjeeling district of West Bengal.[2][3] It is also a national holiday in Bhutan.[4] Now it is celebrated all around the world by the Nepalese diaspora. The festival falls around September-October, after the rice harvest. This festival is known for emphasis on family gatherings, as well as on a renewal of community ties.[1] People will return from all parts of the world, as well as different parts of the country, to celebrate together.[1]

The festival is a blend of Hindu Tantrik and animistic harvest festival traditions.[1] On the first day, called Ghatasthapana, the "Dashain Ghar", or special worship room, is set up—this room is used to worship the Astha-Matrikas (the 8 tantrik goddesses) as well as the Nava Durgas (the 9 durga goddesses), to whom the festival is consecrated.[1] Married women will say the mantras for the next fifteen days, and guard the goddesses. Barley is sowed on big earthern pots which have a coating of cow dung. These seeds will sprout in ten days. The sprouts, which symbolize a good harvest, will be decoratively placed on the heads of family members later on in the festival as a blessing.

On the seventh day, Fulpaati, the town of Gorkha sends an offering of flowers to the King of Nepal. A band associated with the army also plays its music and goes through the old core of Kathmandu.

The eighth day, Asthami, is the day of sacrifices. Goddess temples all over the Kathmandu Valley receive sacrifices, ranging from goats and buffaloes to ducks and chickens. Blood, symbolic for its fertility, is offered to the goddesses. This meat is taken home and cooked as "prasad", or food blest by divinity. This food is offered, in tiny leaf plates, to the household gods, then distributed amongst the family. Eating this food is thought to be auspicious.

Sacrifices continue on Navami, the ninth day. Families will visit various temples around the Kathmandu Valley. On the tenth day, "Dashami," a mixture of rice, yogurt and vermillion will be prepared by the women. This preparation is known as "tika". Elders put this on the forehead of younger relatives to bless them with fertility and abundance in the upcoming year. The red also symbolizes the blood that ties the family together. Elders will give "dakshina", or a small amount of money, to younger relatives at this time. The tika continues for five days, during which time people also gather to play cards around massive amounts of food and drink.

In several parts of Nepal, Dashain is the only time of the year when people receive a set of new clothing. Likewise, in poorer families, the animal sacrifice was eagerly anticipated since it might be the only animal protein the family would eat all year. This may be true in certain parts of Nepal where food is in low supply, but is less so in the cities. In general, the tradition of sacrifice is lessening with the easy availability of meat for daily consumption, and with the influences of Vaishnav Hindus (who are vegetarian).

In recent times, Dashain has become commercialized, with industries sponsoring events around the festival to sell goods.

Being such a talented guys why? u people are into such field ..was the second question from the man's mouth...
Talking about Nepal(sundar ,shanta ,bishal)..the Nepali people ...not only talking about the typical Nepalese but also few of the youngster even few of my friends , brothers ......what they believe is such courses which are fully related to animation,graphics,photography,design and arts these are the secondary subjects chosen by the people who cant study...or lets say the primary subject focused by the people who are looser in the field of studying,reading ......
wow! beautiful...how did they make it? really great . what a talent guys...........these are the comments what people give usually after seeing the movies like spider man, superman , narnia and so called the fantasy movies.... but when comes to the study of such field where creativeness is given the 1st emphasis , the inner talent, the ability to makes your dream in reality ....
people says u don't have degree just have got the diploma u could do nothing ..your important isn't there in the coming days .....this is what the mentality of many Nepalese have...
look at him ..he is doctor and here's comes a engineer .... ... still each family of our country wants there son or daughter to become doctor or engineer rather than other subject...
we works , we walks , we does according to our capacity according to the interest....
some people wants to show the world with there eyes...so they join photography,film making and make the world see the same but in different ways,they does this because they find their potential in this field and they are satisfies with what they do ........
some people they wants to drown in the world of dream and wants to show their dream to the world ... such people usually find arts,animation,film the subject of their choice ...they sees their future in these....
most of the people in my class of animation are very talent in their studies they decided to join this because this is what they find comfort in..talking about my faculty some have already done their engineering and some passed their bba ,bcom.... yet they are in such field because this is what they like.....they were doing good in engineering ,bba ,bcom but why did they came here if they were good over there...because they are doing best in this field ..here they find the chance to prove them self...
we may do good in any field but for becoming best we choose what we are interested in....
your child can do good in the field of your choice but let them decide what he/she are interested in , they will be doing best and lots more than your expectation..

came from my institution ...got mine step on the room threw mine bag away... the daily routine.... with 2 minutes refreshment started to draw ....... the rabbit using the same software(flash)...again without use of tablet i completed this in 1 hr(including the online chat,mail check,messenger)

fuck off you shit! this is what i say to the forward! usually i say it spam offline messages...those which are forwarded to me which was sent to them by some third person.... i really give a shit important to such offlines...it really irritates me.... moreover few ones which are related to or mssg saying !!! sometimes i am a world's famous football player and me surrounded with beautiful girls .... sometimes i am a kung fung master showing the talent in front of the girl by fighting to the evil head...today i was about to impress the beautiful babe but the things went wrong............
i was superman yet i didn't wore my underwear above my pant .... neither had a fancy blue dress nor mine hair was designed "s"... nor spectacles cud only differentiate me by superman..... my friend calls me superman but they knew ...i m superman and superman is me...
